More Than a Moment: A Year-Round Commitment to Drivers

Every September, National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW) is a chance to recognize the 3.5 million professional truck drivers who keep America moving. From long hours on the road to navigating unpredictable conditions, these men and women play a vital role in our everyday lives by delivering the goods we often take for granted.  

At its core, NTDAW is a time to say, “thank you.” But the impact of their work extends far beyond a single week. 

Drivers are the backbone of the supply chain  

They keep shelves stocked, hospitals supplied, and businesses running. The job is demanding and often overlooked, but it’s essential. This week brings well-deserved recognition, from gatherings to online tributes. 

TrueNorth is proud to take part in the week-long celebration. This year, our team attended Forward Air’s trucker appreciation event in Ohio, where we had the opportunity to thank drivers in person. We also created appreciation videos to spotlight the dedication of drivers, shared messages of gratitude from our colleagues through email and social media and used terminal signage to extend thanks directly to drivers on the road. 

But what happens when the week ends?  

Year-round appreciation: more than a hashtag  

At TrueNorth, appreciation doesn’t stop after one week. Recognizing the work and sacrifices of drivers is part of how we operate, partner, and serve. Whether through risk management that protects livelihoods, advocating for driver-first policies or simply listening and responding, we’re committed to showing up for drivers 52 weeks a year.

Keep it going

Now that NTDAW has ended, we encourage everyone to keep the momentum going. Appreciation doesn’t have to end with the celebration. There are many meaningful ways to continue supporting drivers throughout the year, including:  

• Creating a culture of respect  
• Investing in driver well-being  
• Listening to driver feedback  
• Advocating for policies that put drivers first  

When appreciation becomes part of our everyday mindset, the entire industry moves forward together.
